A letter to the Chief Exec

What I'd like to say in a letter to a Chief Exec of any organisation in these tough economic times:

Dear Mr xxxxxxx

From your shareholders and clients perspective, there has been significant promotion around your on-line capabilities. A recent release talked about your world leading website and its 'top drawer' capabilities and compliance. Unfortunately the later of these statements isn't exactly correct - at best this raises unpleasant questions, at worse it may generate unnecessary litigation.

You are not alone with this problem. I do not believe prestigious brands such as xxxxxxxxx (of which we are clients) can be unwittingly offering up such statements. In building your website(s) those involved with their production can lack the necessary understanding of the issues they can create.  And, to date, executives have not had the reporting facilities to ensure they can hold people to account over the quality of their Web presence.

To eliminate any 'technical fluff or fog', which web types can inadvertently slip into, I enclose a screen shot of the front page of your new website. The problem areas are highlighted in blue.

In the past we have talked to many web services people (internal and external) involved with your Website(s) and sadly, we have been treated to a barrage of abuse. I suggested it was better 'not to shoot the messenger' and to look at the information we had to offer but to no avail.

I feel strongly that we can assist the Board, by providing an independent audit of your on-line operations, (reporting risks and any potential brand dilution) this provides you with a view of how good or bad things are. For your web operatives it provides the exact details of any issues that are effecting quality, compliance and performance down to the line of code of the page that needs amending.

If I could clearly show you the exact details of any failures, allowing you to correct them and offer a better on-line experience, today - why would you not want to buy a service that costs less than avg 1% of web operating costs, yet can save 30% plus ??

PS - Sitemorse isn't a 'big' project solution, the day of take up (which requires no installation, setup or support) it will provide the exact details of issues that are effecting your site - that day you will be able to improve your website, with less than 45 minutes work.
