With many people banking online and using the internet for research comparing accounts, it's vital that any bank's website work as efficiently as possible and gives the very best customer experience. This is particularly the case where clients can be based many miles away from their banks, and an atmosphere of total trust is necessary.
At the top of our quarterly Index once again is Geneva-based Banque Bénédict Hentsch & Cie SA, a private bank founded in Geneva less than a decade ago but boasting a long tradition in wealth management. The bank scored 8.02 out of a possible ten marks in our testing, with maximum function and performance scores, maintaining its score from our previous Index of this sector.
Second spot this time is taken by E. Gutzwiller & Cie, Banquiers, located in Basel, Geneva and Zurich. Scoring 7.9/10 overall but with an excellent score of 8/10 for accessibility, the bank rises one place in the table since our Q2 survey.
Moving up our Index this time is Zurich-based Maerki Baumann & Co. AG is an innovative, family owned private bank with a strong banking tradition. This bank topped our first survey of 2013 but had dropped seven places last time, but have made a strong return to the Index with a new website, scoring 7.8/10 overall.
